Bodrum and surroundings - 8-13 March,

So I spent quite some time in Bodrum, which was a lot nicer than I expected. It is a major toursit destination. Bodrum and the surrounding peninsuala recieves 1 million tourists. Most of them are in the surrounding villages and resorts. Tthe city Bodrum itslef  is not built for tourism, while all the other places seem to have been built exclusively for tourism, which also mean that they lack genuinity and atmospher. But central Bodrum is nice. Of course it is mainly oriented to tourism, but the buildings are all there from before the period of the big tourism development, and I stayed in the middle of the city. At this time it is out of season, and there are few tourists. Most of the tourists are Turkish and there seem to be a majority of women about my age or older. They seem to exercise and take lang walks. Then there are a few foreigners, In Bodrum itself not so many, but in the surrounding resorts.

In the off-season it is also cheaper, rooms are about half price. I stay for 20 Euro in the middle of the town. I visited a nice resort on a secluded good beach and they charge only 15 Euro in the low season, the double in the high season. The high season is supposedly in June to September. I can't understand how that can be the high season as it must be very hot here then. I would say, April-Mai and October sounds like the best times. It is fine now as well. Spring is just arriving, the sea is a bit cold......

The other day I went to a rock concert and saw this band - and drank too many beers

Häromdagen gick jag på rockkonsert och såg det här bandet - och drack för många öl.

I Bodrums hamn ligger det en massa lyxbåtar, den här råkade ha Karis namn - nästan

In the harbout of Bodrum there are many exclusive yatchs like this one, which almost had Kari's name.

The 11th I took a trip around the peninsula and visited most of the tourist places. This is Otakent

The trip was 75 km and I atually beat my old speed record and reaced 63 Km / hour

Below you see a flowers and a bit of landscape.

Jag badade här i viken längst bort.

There is a lot of construction going on.here is one of the new resorts
Det pågår massor med byggande.

Some constructions are pretty awful, here they are preparing a house on the top of the hill and almost the whole hill is exploited and re-constructed.

If you need an old olive tree for your hollidau house - here they are!!!
