Last stretch home - sista vägen hem
Fireworks at home at "Valborg"
The 26 April I took the train from Nyon to Basel, where I had a few hours. I took the night train from Basel to Kolding. My bicycle got an own place
Min cykel på tåget Nyon-Kolding
In Denmark I had to change train twice and came to Fredrikshavn where I took the ferry to Gothenburg. The picture is from the archipelago at the Swedish West Coast-
In Gothenburg I tried to find my way out of the city. I asked a woman on a bicycle for the way, and she followed me for some 6-7 km through the worst part. It was the first day of unemployment for her. We had a nice discussion about cycling etc. When she left me I asked another elderly woman for some guidance how to avoid the big roads and she also followed me for a while. So in that way I managed to avoid the highways.
Outside the city I notice the wood anemones, flowering all over.
I arrived Gotherburg at 18, and rode fro some two and a half hour to Hakefjordens pensionat. Which was a nice place.
Next morning I continued for some 100 km to Ingrid and Öivind, old friends of ours. Below in their winter garden
Swedish West Coast
The following day I went from Rabbalshede to Säffle. One of the most exhausting days of the trip. It was rather hilly and I had the wind in my face most of the time.
One of the 100 000 lakes in Sweden
Arriving in Säffle after 145 km I was delighted to find the pension Villa Billerud, where the owner gave me the suite.
From Säffle I had the last trip home. First I had to go on big roads to Karlstad, even cycled on the highway and some other road where you are not allowed to cycle......
The landscape is not always so nice - paper pulp factory in Gruvön.
In Karlstad I took the special bike path that goes on an old railroad track. A very nice bicycle path, around 100 km
The last break before coming home
The Klara river, the biggest river in Sweden that flows around our farm as well. This picture from Munkfors - almost home.
In Östra Skymnäs the village celebrated the Valborgsmässoafton, so it was a nice time to come home.
In another posting I will summarize my impressions from the trip. Now I and Margareta need to rest.
